I AM THE BEST DAMNED HUSBAND THAT EVER LIVED!!!
Oh, yes I am! Don’t you dare doubt me. MRS and I have a little date night tonight and I am going to take her to see Julie and Julia. Holy f-ing shit. I just admitted that in public. Well screw it. I don’t give a shit. MRS bore me two wonderful children. MRS puts up with my shit on a daily basis. MRS could have easily divorced my ass seven or eight times since we got married. I don’t care how painfully “Nora Ephron” this movie is going to be. I don’t care how annoying Any Adams’ voice is. I don’t care that this is the final step is my permanent emasculation.
My wife deserves a good night out and god dammit, I’m going to give it to her!
Crap.

UPDATE
OK. I have to admit it. The movie was very good. I could have used a little less Amy Adams and a little more Meryl Streep, but otherwise, no big complaints. Stanley Tucci was solid as usual and made me want to see Big Night again soon (a classic if you haven’t seen it).

This actually looks pretty good. I hate to admit it, but this is my kind of movie . . . so I guess that makes me a bigger pussy than you!
But I’m waiting for the DVD . . .

No….no one is a bigger pussy than me.
Don’t forget your murse.
I’m assuming a murse is a man-purse….yes?
Awww, Amie, you totally stole my line.

No need to gang up on me.
That was a good movie. Real torture would be seeing that new Bradley Cooper-Sandra Bullock movie.

That’s funny. She brought up a Sandra Bullock movie and I instantly vetoed it.
I think you deserve a good night after the movie too. Sitting through that movie you deserve the best!

I agree. I do deserve the best. I have a feeling no one else shares that opinion.
You certainly get bonus points for going. I agree — more of Meryl/Julia. But, holy crap: a virgin when she married at age 40?!? She sure made up for it with all those nooners but still …
I blogged about the movie recently because we gals came out of it, not hungry (well, a little) but wondering: where do you find husbands like that?

Well, unfortunately, I’m taken. Though I’m not really not that good a husband. I think most of the really good one exist in the movies. They make the rest of us look bad.
